WordPress has issued an update (WP 3.0.2) that fixes a moderate security threat, some additional security enhancements, as well as a handful of bugs. For a listing of changes and enhancements with this security update, visit the WordPress 3.0.2 page.
All Prism Enterprise client sites that have WordPress installed have been updated with this enhanced version. And, as recommended by WordPress, each client site’s database was backed up prior to the update.
Performing a database backup is an important step in the maintenance of your blog-based website. In the event of a system crash during the process, you would need to reinstall the database as part of the recovery process.
Imagine having a total corruption of your website’s database with no backup to fall back on; all your hard work would be gone.
